Covid safe protocols for youth group

Time – 7pm-9pm Friday nights

This allows leaders extra time to clean and helps us minimise downtime between activities.

Youth group is still school ages yr 7-12

Although we had considered splitting youth into two smaller groups, we decided against this because it was unpopular with youth and most parents. Some youth and parents also found they were unable to make the time of the split groups. If conditions worsen, or restrictions tighten we will aim to run two separate groups in separate spaces at the same time to minimise numbers.

Youth who are unwell or sick will not be allowed to attend

Social distancing

Our leaders are required to maintain social distance or 1.5 metres from the youth. Youth are not required to social distance from other youth at E3 as we fall under similar rules to schools. We do encourage youth to social distance from each other and allow those want to social distance the ability to in games and in small groups. No corporate singing is allowed.

Hygiene and Cleaning

Youth are required to use hand sanitiser upon entry and exit. Youth will be told to wash hands or use hand sanitiser if necessary during the program. Youth should bring their own water bottle. Youth will not be allowed to share phones or electronic devices. We encourage youth to bring a bible if they own one and their own pen and notebook to use for writing (we will provide paper copies of bible passages for those who don’t bring their own bibles).

Food and Cost

We are not providing supper at this time, so youth group is free! Youth should bring their own drink bottle.

Drop off and Pick up

Parents will need to remain outside the building to limit people inside, and to minimise parents congregating. They may walk with their children to the door of the church at 7pm. At 9pm our program will be concluded. Parents may then collect their children in one of two ways. Parents may text their children to come out, or parents may come to the door of the church and a youth leader will collect their child.

Contact tracing

All youth will need to have a registration form filled out for them by their parent/guardian before they attend or on the first night they attend one of our meetings in 2020. The rego form is above. It can be filled out at the door on Friday nights.

E3 is our youth group for high-schoolers.

It’s on most  Friday nights during the public school term from 7pm-9pm. We meet at Berowra Anglican Church (18 Berowra Waters Road).

The most important thing we do at Youth Group is learn about Jesus and help young people grow in their faith. We want to do that in the most fun and exciting way possible. We hang out, play some awesome games, listen to talks from the bible and think about it in small groups, pray for each other and go on great outings. Our leaders run 2 camps a year for the whole youth group, and we take youth in years 9-12 on a weekend conference called KYCK in April each year.

We have about 40 youth attend each week, and 14 adult leaders.

In year 6 at school this year?

We invite year 6 to join us during term 4 each year. This helps them get to know each other and build great friendships before beginning high school. The first night you can come is October 16th. If you’re in year 6 come along and invite your friends!
